Heat Transfers
People are often unsure of when a heat transfer would be the embellishment of choice. Here are a few guide lines.
- When silk screening, you have to cut a separate screen for every color in the design. This can really add up when there are a lot of colors in your design. But heat transfers have no set up fees. So if you have a design with lots of colors, this is a good option.
- Sometimes people have artwork that they want exactly duplicated, like a photograph for instance, or piece of artwork with lots of shading and tones. Silk screening cannot achieve the exact detail when it comes to those situations, but heat transfers can.
- You might want only 1 or 2 items with your design on it. Our minimum piece order for silk screening is 12 pieces. (36 if there are 3 or more colors in your design.) So, if you don’t need many garments with your design on them, heat transfers might be for you. There are no minimum quantities required.
- Years ago heat transfers earned a bad rap because they were thick, and cracked, and didn’t last very long. Well, they’ve come a long way in recent years, and now there are several different types available. They’re able to go on almost any type of fabric.
- If you’re unsure of which way to go, give us a call and we can help you figure out what’s best for what you’re trying to achieve. Pricing is based on the type of heat transfer you order, how big the overall design is, and how many you order.
